Anonymous asked: To the person asking about boots, I've ordered several boots from Silhouettes and OneStopPlus (both online) and they all have fit great. They aren't exactly 'cosplay' boots but they generally have a decent selection and aren't too terribly pricey.... especially if you look about for a good coupon. :)

Anonymous asked: hello :) I have to say I love this blog a lot. I have a question for you, though! I'm about 5'4" and 155lbs, and I'm built wider and have a little weight on my stomach and sort of large breasts (I'm a 34D. and I'm glad I'm anon, lol..). I want to cosplay Merrill from Dragon Age 2, because I really like her. But, she's tall, thin, and obviously is not a 34D....

clash-at-demonhead asked: I was wondering if you knew of a good place to buy boots (for a reasonable price) for those of us with wider/larger legs. I have large, toned calf muscles that couldn't possibly fit into any higher-cut boots for regular sizes.
Thank you!

Anonymous asked: Dear ChubbyCosplay,
I'm a solid 160 lbs, and am in a bit of a bind. I'm going to a Star Trek convention, and I would love to wear a female starfleet uniform dress. But the dress is so short that I'm a little nervous about looking like a whale...I don't want to offend people. What should I do?

Anonymous asked: I want to try and cosplay a homestuck character. Specifically, Nepeta. I'm worried because she's a generally small character. I was wondering do you think it's OK the to be about 135 and cosplaying her?

Chubby Cosplay- Hiatus
As you may have noticed, I haven’t been updating or posting much lately, unless it’s ready-to-go submissions or questions that are easy to answer. I’ve been hit pretty hard in the face by life as of late, and have been left with little petience and energy with which to run a blog that takes lots of interaction on my part. In a few days I’ll be leaving to stay with...

Anonymous asked: I hear lemon works for lightening your skin. While I don't exactly know if it works or not, it's worth a try! You could go to wikihow and search for "How to Use a Lemon to Lighten Your Skin" and click the first search that comes up. There is various ways to use lemon!

Hope it helps someone.

teensyteatime asked: To the person asking about dark underarms:

I am by no means a medical expert, but I have a similar problem. If you really are scrubbing hard and it still doesn't change the pigmentation, and the area is a little patchy or scaly, you could have something called Acanthosis Nigrocans. Acanthosis Nigrocans can be caused by many things, and it is, in and of itself, harmless....

Anonymous asked: I have dark underarms, too! Sometimes I use this stuff called Eskinol. I get it at Asian stores and I'm pretty sure it's an astringent for your face lol. It worked a little bit I think. Maybe because it has lightening properties? Since Eskinol is also really drying, maybe papaya soap is more to your liking? It's a lot more gentle and has the same lightening properties.

Anonymous asked: First of all, I have to say that I love this blog. Having been the youngest and the biggest of all my siblings, it really feels good to know I'm not alone. I'm 5'5 and about 220 pounds with weight that jumps and falls between 10 to 15 pounds no matter what I do. I have been diagnosed with a Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrome too.

Now my question is to deal with a rather...

trenya asked: Another tip for the Ukraine cosplayer! This is the kind of situation that calls for making a muslin! (ideally any clothing is that kind of situation, but costly is expensive enough as is.)
Basically, buy the cheapest fabric you can, usually cotton muslin, and make the garmet out of that. I usually go with the biggest size I need to fit some part of me. Then, you can fit that to yourself...

pumpkinharmony asked: This is for the Ukraine cosplayer asking for advice on how to adjust the size of her pattern. (Sorry I wasn't sure how to reply to her =.= /fail...)

Putting darts in the places that are too big for you is one way. (But just myself personally I find that more difficult ^^...)

I would take note of my measurements and then re-draw the patterns to fit my specific...

nuricurry asked: To add on to what everyone's said about make up tips; Ben Nye or Kryolan creme foundation is really good to cover blemishes and uneven skintone for cosplay. I have ezcema, and while not the same, the problems are similar. You'll also want to use a foundation brush instead of a sponge, because it can be streaky with a sponge unless you pat it on very generously. After that, just put on...

sconesandtexting asked: To the Anon who asked about make-up tips. I don't know your cosmetic knowledge, but I recommend using theater grade make up. They come in all shades ranging from alabaster pale to dark browns, and even some other colours. It's thick and will even out your skin tone as well as cover up a lot better than standard grade make-up. There are some really good stores online, as well as some...

maidofastolat asked: For the anon about acne scars. I use, "Vita-K Profesional Acne Scars". I bought it at Ulta and it's been quite helpful for me and clearing up acne scars. You use it, I think, like twice a day for about two weeks and there's a noticeable difference. I'm not sure about the anon's acne scar problems, but it has cleared up mine quite a bit.

Anonymous asked: For the anon with skin problems, you can go on youtube and look up Michelle Phan or/and bubzbeauty, they have lots of DIY (Do it yourself) tutorials for skin irritation, cleansing and stuff that could help your skin problems, and they also recommend products, and have lots makeup techniques that you could use. :)

nessuno asked: To the anon who wanted to do chubby-cosplay Ukraine!
I find it best to sew with the size that will fit your biggest area, then when it's at a good enough spot (or even done!) you can pin the areas that need to be tighter to a size that fits you comfortably and allows it to be taken on and off. I do this with the sides, mostly, or the shoulders, but it's very simple!

sherlockisaslytherin asked: I'm making a cosplay for Ukraine, and I was wondering if there was anywhere you could direct me for advice about chubby-cosplaying her? It's my first time sewing *anything* (last time I cosplay'd, I bought the stuff and modified it a bit) so I'm horribly lost, and I am having trouble adjusting the sizes to fit my boobs (according to the pattern, a size 20, while the rest of me...

Also if anyone is looking for quality wigs, go with Epic Cosplay. My Saeko wig was amazing, and I love it. xD Wigs...
