lixxieb asked: Okay so...urm..hi!
I'm someone who has always really wanted to cosplay but never had the courage due to my size (I'm a UK size 14-16 and 5'2", not a great mix!), I put about my feelings on tumblr and a kind anon directed me here.
I am so glad that they did! Seeing all these amazingly beautiful cosplayers has given me hope (wow that sounds cheesey!)

monochrome-lullaby asked: I am soooo very excited that I found this blog~ I need some help though. Saeko from HOTD has clothing that shows her arms, She wears a black tank top. My arms are flabby (I weigh over 200lbs unfortunately) but I the tank top is a cosplay I want to do if I can't figure out how to do the collar on her school uniform shirt. I'm unsure if I should just do it, or if I should forget about...

Beautiful All the Time.
(That’s me on the left) I’ve only been cosplaying for four years now, and as a bigger girl it wasn’t easy to start. Before cosplaying I always work baggy modest clothes. My self-esteem was shot to hell. I hated myself. I thought I was fat and ugly and not anything special. After cosplaying…well, I wear whatever I want to wear. Dresses that show off my legs even though...
chocolateshotgun asked: Me myself, I don't think I'd be considered a 'chubby' cosplayer. But I love this blog nonetheless. I love how supportive a community this is; it makes me wish I could be part of it >< I think this is so wonderful, I wish that there were more supportive communities like this, and not just elitst-type factions for the 'best' cosplayers (which seem to be majority...

With A Little Help From My Friends
From my DeviantART gallery.
My girlfriend is actually the one who told me I should post this. I’m the brown-haired girl on the left—Minako Arisato, or the Female Protagonist from Persona 3 Portable. She’s a very stylish, pretty character and I was absolutely TERRIFIED to cosplay as her at Anime Los Angeles 2011.
It took a whole lot of support from the people I love to...

cosplaysuccessstories:
Okay this isnt an anime cosplay. Its a western comic. But this is my best example in this category.
I openly admit. I am about 80 pounds overweight. I have been since puberty. I’m a fat chick and I don’t give a damn. Im big boned, large framed, and fat. I’m not…

Hi! I stumbled onto this tumblr courtesy of the weaboostories tumblr and I love the idea of this! So much positivism! If it’s not too much to ask, I would like to share something inspirational given by a friend of mine. I think that she is one of the few people who still know the essence of what cosplay actually is compared to those people who keep on bashing others and ruining their fun....
mookip asked: So you dont have to post this, but I am trying to start making some lolita dresses and I've heard several people say that its really hard to make. I was wondering if you had any websites or tutorials to get started? I know there's different styles but I've been told that for plus size stuff you can't make it unless you're the most amazing seamstress.[If you dont post this...

Sorry about the slow entries guys, my poor health has made concentrating on the entries that need link-arranging or extensive answers difficult. I’m pushing through! Please keep a look out for your ask. If in doubt (you sent more than five days ago), resend your ask, just in case tumblr ate it. It has happened.
Anonymous asked: you know that most people are following this tumblr just to laugh at the fat japanophiles right?
vanna--elbowdeepinclay asked: What would you think of a curvy girl doing a Tokyo Mew Mew a la Mode cosplay?
I'm a bit self concious when it comes to skirts, and the characters wear maid outfits, but I've been wanting to cosplay from it for so so long...

merroki asked: To that gorgeous Russia cosplayer that posted, I have to say that you're definitely one of the best I've seen! I'm personally of the opinion that the character Russia is not really skinny at all, so I think chubby body-type cosplayers fit him better actually. And your face and expression really seem to be dead on as well. Overall, wonderful work dear! Keep it up!

A few months ago, I would have never, _EVER_, posted this anywhere, because I was terrified of what people would say.
But you know what? A few months in the US and already, I’m proud of the cosplays I do, I’m learning to accept how I look and…not to sound arrogant, but I actually think that I’m…at least a little pretty. -smile- Thank you so much for this tumblr...

Touhous and wonderlands
This is St-Arcana as Patchouli and myself as Marisa from Touhou (St-Arcana doesn’t have a tumblr but she gave me full permission to post these pics).
And this is St-Arcana and our friend as the White Rabbit and the March Hare from the series Are You Alice?
I know i'm not a perfect cosplayer, but i still...
Okay, so uhm..as you can see i’m not skinny..and i have acne..but i cosplay anyway, >^< i’m kinda scared to submit since..i’m scared to get hated on like “Oh! You’re just looking for attention..” but i just wanted to share this since..i know some people feel that you need to be skinny to cosplay and win..and stuff..but..the first costume where i was...

Some of my pics.
It may not look it, but I am over 200 pounds in all of these pictures. I am considered overweight/obese, whatever you call it.. However, it doesn’t stop me from cosplaying. Cosplaying is a passion of mine, something I love to do and something I take seriously in my efforts.
Also, I am a male cosplayer who tries to ignore his weight when cosplaying. I know it’s there, but I...
Anonymous asked: Ah, honestly I probably shouldn't even be posting here... but oh well!
I followed this blog because it made me feel wonderful to see all these amazing people doing what they liked to do.
I'm not chubby, honestly. I'm actually underweight for my age. However, I still get really self-conscious and put myself down because of my body. Everyone always comments "Gosh!...

Perhaps not from an anime or game...
I was at AnimeNEXT over the weekend, and on Friday, I decided to be a student from Hogwarts - specifically, a Hufflepuff. Now, I feel as though I’m on the heavy side, and I often feel a little nervous cosplaying, especially if I have to wear a dress or skirt, but I got loads of positive comments about me and my costume and a lot of love for it. I am definitely proud of this costume and...
She really did make the cosplay work for her and I love it!

I’m pretty chubby, but I always put my looks aside to cosplay with my best guy friend. Here we are cosplaying Angela and Mifune from Soul Eater I do apologize, I didn’t have her hat made in time for this shot… Then, we cosplay Eve and Sven from Black Cat I’m sure he looks far better than me, but I always am eager and inspired to make my cosplays look good for him....
Sorry about the wait, guys! Info on asks and post...
I was pretty sick on top of life issues, but I’m back now! I’ll be arranging submissions I received that had links instead of pics, finding a couple of sources, and answering questions to the best of my ability. There are about twenty posts to mess with in this manner, and hopefully I can space them over the next two days.

the-parking-fairy asked: Hi! I've been to a few Cons and seen some big girls cosplaying things that in my opinion they really shouldn't. I'm not exactly big myself, I'm a size 4/6, and I don't usually think that big girls should cosplay smaller characters, but you've really knocked my prejudices out. That Sailor Neptune is absolutely fantastic! I never thought a skirt that short could look...
tattooeddicks-deactivated201112 asked: I was wondering if you guys would like a binding tutorial for chubby crossplayers. I'm genderqueer so I bind and figuring out how to bind under cosplay is really hard, but I've pretty much got it down. I also know that's one of the things people tend to dislike about chubby girls who crossplay. Just curious :)
Anonymous asked: I'm a fat (not chubby, just fat) guy and not very femme at all, but I have some interest in sewing and cosplaying and was wondering if there was a male version of the lolita style (like Victorian cutesy knickers and a frilly shirt or something, I have no idea) and if a heavy-set androgynous looking guy could pull it off? Any images or links to places with these type of outfits would be...
