Anonymous asked: The term "fat" has a negative connotation to it, and makes this blog seem a lot less positive than it really could be. I'm sure you've got some sort of comeback to this, and I'd love to hear it (no sarcasm intended.).
Anonymous asked: Hi guys, im a follower of yours i realy adore your blog, I have a friend who went through cancer when she was a little and so shes missing a her whole right leg and shes a little chubby herself, i try to get her to cosplay with us but shes afraid that people will make fun of her, Do you have any tips for us to help her come out of her shell?
knightlife asked: Quick question - when you say you start at size 14, do you mean size 14 American?

You're gorgeous.
Hello chubby cosplays, I’m Ari from Sperm Sisters’.
(This is me in my Finn cosplay from Anime Boston 2011; If you guys saw me and my princess bubblegum - hi!)
I am 5’6 1/2. 224-5 lbs, widely built - and about 40-50 pounds overweight. I am 14 years old, almost 15. But, to be honest. I am size conscious. I live in a generation where big girls or ‘fat asses’...
Opinions on a new ask system?
If I started a skype, aim, msn, and yahoo account and logged them in to answer questions for certain times on certain days, would anyone feel more comfy discussing their personal cosplay concerns through that method? I would post the times I’d be around about for the day I was on and the day after, ya’ll would add chubbycosplay@yourimservice.com to your list and I’d accept...
Reminder for new followers!
I don’t answer anon asks that are very specific. If it only relates to your exact boyd, comfort level, and cosplay, you need to ask me off anon so we can discuss it PRIVATELY and not clog up the blog. It hurts my soul to let all these asks sit there but if I do one I have to do them all. PLEASE come to me off anon so we can discuss your questions, needs, and concerns! I will NEVER judge you!

I meant to send this sooner, but I don’t have a very good picture of the full outfit! The bad thing about being the designated photographer in a group is that sometimes my costumes miss the picture train.
Anyhow, I cosplayed Cherry Bomb at a few cons and for Halloween. :D I really love everything about it and felt really sexy. I’m 5’8 (6’ in the thigh high boot heels)...

Anonymous asked: Hi there. I want to cosplay as Kanaya Maryam from Homestuck, but I am extremely self-conscious about my body. I'm going in a group, and I know I will be the largest one there, which doesn't help my self-esteem. I was told I was too chubby to cosplay Kanaya when I first expressed my interest. What are your thoughts on a chubby Kanaya? Would it go against too many peoples' headcanons...

Anonymous asked: I'm having a hard time understanding this, and it seems to come up a lot here. Why is it so commonplace for people to be apprehensive about what other people think of their costumes, to the point of things like fear? I can see wanting to accurately represent a character that means a lot to you, but that goes beyond mere weight. I'm about 330 lbs and this reaction from far smaller people...
king-of-fuckshit-mountain asked: You guys suck and fat people are ugly and should not cosplay. Cosplay is dumb in itself, too

About Body Policing
I’ve seen a few people getting miffed at a Kusuriuri cosplay posted earlier. The cosplayer stated they were 5’8” and 160lbs. Now, all of the complaints have been along the lines of: “They’re not fat” “I’m 5’8” and 160lbs and I don’t consider myself fat” Well, see, the thing is, you’re not them and you don’t get to...
SUBMISSIONS: OPEN!
Submissions are now reopened! Please use the tags, I will add character and series tags myself. If you submit a cosplay, tag it such, if you submit a story, tag it with the story tag. IMPORTANT: While this is a feel-good kind of blog, I do have quality control. I WILL NOT ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING WIPS/In-Progress cosplays Incomplete or poorly executed cosplay. Don’t say things like “I...

I’m Ahiru, on the left. That Princess Tutu with me was an actual ballerina and she was so super sweet. <3 This was one of my first serious cosplays. I made this while learning how to sew and I’m really proud of it. I was scared to do it at first cause in the show, Ahiru is super skinny and with my legs and that short skirt I was really nervous but I’m really happy with how...

Austrian Succession Era France, Axis Powers Hetalia
I almost flaked out on this costume before I got halfway through the planning phase. It’s been done before, by some very STUNNING cosplayers, and while I’m hardly ashamed of my body (a size 14/16: 185lbs at 5’3” is overweight, but nothing terrible), there was a small part of me that worried that it wouldn’t turn...

…is how many followers we have!
We’ve been back for less than a day, and gained about 15 new followers.
I think it’d be appropriate to mention that I plan on hosting a giveaway when we reach 1,500 followers! Seeing as we got our first 500 the day we started, and reach 1,000 by the end of the two week mark, I don’t think that’s too tall an order. It’ll be a...

Dead Master from Black Rock shooter.
This was my first big cosplay project; I adjusted the costume a bit to fit my body type but all in all I really liked how it turned out; and surprisingly so did everyone else. >< I was extremely nervous about wearing this because of how self cautious I am and because the two other girls with me (Black Rock Shooter and Black Gold Saw) both had...

Guess who's back?
ChubCos is back!
While I am still ill I now have large blocks of time where I can’t do much but sit and internet, so… why not do something constuctive? I battled through the old inbox and unfortunately had to toss out everything that was outdated, such as time sensitive asks or wips. I won’t be opening the submission box until all of the queued things get posted, which should...

akstatic asked: I recently saw someone asking about finding wider boots with bigger calf circumferences, and if no one has said it yet, Torrid! They have a website and stores throughout the U.S., and include measurements of their boot circumference, ranging anywhere from ankle to knee-height, going up to a women's size 12.
Return! Expect queued items to start appearing...
I’m queuing everything up! I meant to return yesterday, but my bff’s ancient dusty room was slowly killing her with her asthma and we did an emergency cleaning.
Here now!
Gonna turn off the submit for a bit, so I can get the old stuff out. It’ll return tomorrow.

F*ck Flattering shirt
Not sure if the previous poster ever got an answer to this or not…. also I’m fairly new to tumblr so appologies if there is a better way to respond.
Here is a link to Gisela Ramirez’ website. She’s the fantastic Australian designer who makes the F*ck Flattering shirts. Prices listed are in Australian dollars, so if you’re from the US don’t be caught off...
Updated FAQ
Anonymous asked: Is chubby cosplay necessarily a sexual thing?
cancerously asked: To the previous Anon asking about Jade: Go for it! I'm 5'0" and 150 lbs and I cosplay her :3 Her outfit's really good at hiding chubby parts if you're self-conscious, but don't be! I can't wait to see it :D
captain-benny-of-the-ss-destiel asked: I went to a doctor recently for an annual check-up. Bloodwork, etc. She said, "Your blood sugar's wonderful, your cholesterol is healthy, your blood pressure is fine, and everything else seems to be ok. But you're really fat and I'd still like to place you on an all-liquid diet by placing mesh in your mouth." I wish I were joking. Hell, I wish SHE'D been joking....
Anonymous asked: I am in dire need of some advice... I'm planning on cosplaying as Jade Harley from Homestuck, and I'm 5' 7"/190 lbs. Any tips on making it more, well, fitting for a girl my size? (sorry if I was confusing, it's 3:30 in the morning)
A Response
(I realize this might not be posted, but the ask box apparently has a character limit now, and I really just needed to get this down. I feel very strongly about doctor business, and, well, hopefully the text will show that. This is in response to these two asks: Ask 1 and Ask 2 )
This is for the 5’4” and 154 pound anon: WHAT. If you are, as your doctor says, “dangerously...
Anonymous asked: No. No. Look. I love this blog, and I agree that our 5'4" friend should not stop cosplaying, and she could be absolutely gorgeous, but please don't throw away what a licensed doctor (who has gone through years and years of medical school) has said on the notion that it's simply fat-hate. There ARE medical issues associated with weight, and I highly doubt that he told her to...
